剧情

几个猥琐高中生在网上回应了一个色情广告，不想之后却落到了一个疯狂的宗教极端主义的牧师手里。
幕后制作

　　影片《红色之州》讲述的是，一群青年人遭遇到了一群美国中西部原教旨主义者，这群人在一个牧师的带领下，交给了这些年轻人什么叫做极端宗教主义者。从情节可以看出，影片大打宗教恐怖牌，优点就是宗教恐怖这件事不用原因，某些信徒的宗教狂热可以说是必然的。影片出自美国颇为出名的草根导演凯文·史密斯之手，曾经拍摄过《疯狂店员》、《情色自拍》等片的他能写又能导，可谓是全才。之前的作品基本属于生活搞笑类，此次突破尝试恐怖题材，令影迷十分期待。演员方面，导演也是力求朴实自然，约翰·古德曼、梅丽莎·里奥都是演技扎实的老戏骨。

　　导演凯文·史密斯说这个故事的灵感来源于韦斯特波罗浸信会（Westboro Baptist Church）的创始人弗莱德·菲尔普斯（Fred Phelps，他们曾多次在伊战阵亡士兵的葬礼上集会，高举“Thank God for 9/11”的标语；或者抗议Lady Gaga是恶魔化身会腐蚀青少年）。
